One of the most important but often neglected areas for utilising artificial grass is childrens play areas. Especially UNDER the play equipment. Generally natural grass does not grow very well in these areas. With all the children playing in the area, natural grass "disappears" and the area is often left sandy and muddy. Besides looking worse for wear, the area is also unsafe for children as it is not soft enough to properly absorb impact from falling children. (Even natural grass does not meet the required safety standards for impact absorption). The result can be severe injury. The solution to this is a shock pad safety padding that gets installed under the artificial grass. Please see section that follows titled "Shock padding under play equipment".
